Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a cancer of the digestive tract that arises in the colon or rectum. Today, the treatment of CRC is guided by a patient’s molecular profile, particularly alterations in KRAS/NRAS, BRAF, HER2, dMMR/MSI-H, and NTRK. However, overall, the treatment algorithm is dominated by chemotherapies alone or in combination with EGFR- or VEGFR-targeted therapies. Current development consists of immunotherapy combinations for the larger MSS CRC population and further targeted development for the biomarkers listed above.

      Disease Area Manager, Oncology

      Amanda completed her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences in the department of Cell Biology, Immunology, and Microbiology at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. Subsequently, she began working as a postdoctoral research scientist at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where she sought to better understand how chromatin influences developmental cell-fate decisions. Amanda leverages her academic research training with additional expertise in scientific communication and clinical study analysis.
